The Shield Tops TCA Nominations

The Shield seasons 1-7 dvd boxset is going out in style: The dearly departed cop drama leads the Television Critics Association Awards with four nominations.

The Shield dvd, which ended its seven-season run in November, will battle Lost seasons 1-5 dvd boxset, Mad Men seasons 1-2 dvd boxset, Saturday Night Live and

Battlestar Galactica dvd for the coveted Program of the Year. The Shield seasons 1-7 was

also nominated for best drama series, best drama acting (Walter Goggins) and the Heritage Award, which honors series that have made a cultural impact. ER seasons 1-15 dvd, M*A*S*H seasons 1-11 dvd boxset, Saturday Night Live dvd and

Star Trek dvd
are the other Heritage Award nominees.The Shield's drama-series competition includes Breaking Bad,

Friday Night Lights, Lost dvd and Mad Men dvd.

On the comedy front, TCA likes 30 Rock seasons 1-3 dvd, The Big Bang Theory dvd, The Daily Show dvd,How I Met Your Mother seasons 1-4 dvd boxset and

The Office seasons 1-5 dvd boxset. Stars from four of those shows — Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin,

Jim Parsons, Neil Patrick Harris and Steve Carell — will face off for comedy-acting honors.
Fringe, The Mentalist, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, True Blood and The United States of Tara are up for best new program.

NBC leads networks with 11 nominations.

The winners will be announced Aug. 1.
